The Building Department is responsible for enforcement of the Building Code as adopted by the State and Local governing body. The Department issues permits and reviews building plans. The Building Department also administers the management of the flood plain, working with FEMA and the SC Department of Resources. Staff consists of the Building Official, who is certified nationally in Floodplain Management, Commercial Building Inspection, One and Two Family Inspection, Building Plans Review, and is a registered South Carolina Building Official #1419.
