Do You Have Sick or Dying Palm Trees?

If you have palm trees which appear to be dying or palm trees which appear to be sick, please tune into Channel 60, or come to the Council meeting, on November 9 beginning at 5:00 p.m. to hear a presentation on a treatment process.

“Karen Stringer Recreational Pier” Dedication

On Thursday, October 7th, The City of Folly Beach dedicated the Folly River Park Pier in the name of “The Karen Stringer
Recreational Pier. Over 50 citizens and her family attended as Mayor Tim Goodwin spoke of Karen, her love and devotion for Folly Beach and her selfless contributions. Wallace Benson,
former Council Member and close friend of the Stringer family also spoke of Karen’s self-sacrificing qualities.

The City of Folly Beach Naming Committee voted unanimously in the naming of the pier after a request and application from the “Folly Beach Anglers”

Code Enforcement Activities for the week of 6/14-6/18

  • One business stopped from operating outside of permitted premises.

  • Six vehicles tagged and forwarded to public safety for abandonment in the right-of-way.

  • One homeowner cited for removing three pine trees without permit.

  • One whole house demolition permit issued.
