The Folly Beach Library was established in 1941 and is located in the community building on Center Street.  The branch has a circulation of over 33,000.

Hours of Operation

Beginning January 1, 2011, the Folly Beach Extension of the Charleston County Library will be open the second Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Driving Directions/Map

From Downtown:

Take Calhoun Street to the James Island Connector (Hwy. 30). Take the connector and turn left on Folly Road. Follow Folly Road into Folly Beach where it then becomes Center Street. The Library is on the right.

From West Ashley:
Take Hwy. 17 towards downtown.  Immediately before crossing the bridges into downtown, take a right onto Folly Road. Follow Folly Road into Folly Beach where it becomes Center Street. The Library will be on the right.

From the North area:
Take I-26 East to Exit 221A. Follow the Crosstown to the Hardee’s and make a left. Go to Calhoun Street and go right to the James Island Connector (Hwy. 30). At the end of the connector go left on Folly Road and follow it into Folly Beach where it becomes Center Street. The Library will be on the right.

From Mt. Pleasant:
Cross the Ravenel Bridge (Hwy. 17) and follow the signs for Savannah. Follow the Crosstown to Hardees and turn left. Go to Calhoun Street and make a right. Take the James Island Connector (Hwy. 30) to the end and turn left on Folly Road. Take Folly Road into Folly Beach where it becomes Center Street. The Library will be on the right.
