Services:

Provide drinking water to residents and other customers:

  • Operate and maintain drinking water distribution system, including pipes, pumps and valves, to provide continuous, uninterrupted service
  • Operate water tanks to ensure adequate system pressure and water supply
  • Install and maintain customer service connections
  • Investigate water quality, quantity, and/or pressure complaints
  • Install water line extensions to serve new customers
  • Read monthly and quarterly water meters

Provide water for fire protection:

  • Install and maintain fire hydrants
  • Operate and maintain water tanks to ensure maximum available fire flows

Provide sanitary sewer service to residents and other customers:

  • Operate and maintain sanitary sewer collection system, including pipes, pumps, and valves, to provide continuous, uninterrupted service whereby meeting state and federal pollution control regulations
  • Install and maintain customer service connections
  • Investigate sewer back_up complaints
  • Oversee installation of sewer line extensions to serve new customers

Hours of Operation and Location:

  • The office hours: 9:00AM to 5:00 PM
  • The crews typically work Monday Ð Friday 7:00AM to 3:00PM
  • Location: City Hall, 21 Center Street, Folly Beach, SC

Fees:

Water and sewer connection fees and monthly charges vary based on the size, type and location of the service. The following table illustrates the fee schedule for a standard residential water service and a standard 4″ residential sewer service lateral. These charges will vary based on the type of property served and the size of the service connection.

  1. The connection fee is charged for new services installed by the City.
  2. The impact fees are charged for all new services and are based on the cost for the City to provide additional capacity in the water and sewer system.
  3. No meter deposit is charged to set up the customer billing account.
  4. An extension fee is charged when the water and sewer lines must be extended to reach the front of the property being served.
  5. The water rate is based on an increasing block rate structure.
